I’ve been reading cards for 9 years now. My first deck was “The Celtic Dragon Tarot,” and since then I’ve begun broadening my collection of decks and artists. While I only read for myself as I began learning, it was with the help of trusted friends that I began reading for others. After several years of tuning into the cards, and later hearing spirits’ voices through them, I widened my readings to others, whether in person or online I’ve found reading cards has been a wonderful path in this life.

Above is a picture of a Halloween reading from 2022, and below are other pictures of readings I’ve done. As you might notice, my cards are frequent travelers and I’m accustomed to readings in different settings: at the altar during ritual, laid onto a hoodie to read for friends, and many other places, sometimes cards just need to be read.

There are so many types of readings that readers drown in. The standard and known tarot spreads, intuitive tarot spreads that change in every situation, spreads we find in books or online, and those we design ourselves. It’s my belief they all have a time and a place. It’s also my view that tarot cards are wonderful gateways into the world “beyond,” the so-called “spirit world,” and hearing spirits’ voices.

But cards also have a voice and song of their own. And it melds beautifully with our own voices, with our own thoughts and feelings. Used as spiritual tools, as I most often use them, or as aids to understanding our world and mind and surroundings through symbolism and similar, tarot connects so much. And the language it presents is us with is vast and true.

Every time a deck is approached, in my practice and I hope in others’ as well, it is with respect and openness. In this way, I seek to maintain an unbiased view of the cards and bring my best ability forward into all readings, personal and professional.
